Any 8.4-9.6 NiMH could fit into Magpul UBR stock
Are there any 8.4-9.6v NiMH batteries that could fit into Magpul UBR stock?

HAHAHA....
Long story short no. I am running 11.1 Lipo in mine with the trigger master in the storage compartment. I think 3x A123 cells will fit as well. But not a chance in hell will 8.4 fit. You might get 5 cells inside the tube.

Maybe a lipo battery in the stock tube, you wont be able to get anything 2/3A or SubC that's big enough to turn your motor over in stock tube.

Essentially the question that the OP is asking is this:
Will a AK stick type batter 8.4 / 9.6 fit into a M4 buffer tube. The answer is no. The Buffer tube is around ~200mm of usable space, just barely enough room for lipo as is. Another option if you really want is to use rechargeable CR123 batteries, you can get 3-5 in your stock tube, but you will need to have a pack made and have a proper charger. |

I have full range of motion on the stock. HOwever if i want to take down the gun I have to disconnect the TM first. The stock can fully collapse and hide the wires. You need to cut a slot for the wires to pass from the stock into the storage space. Make sure you don't cut the material that holds the spring for the adjustment lever or over cut into the space that retains the storage panel. In addition you can cut a groove in your buffer tube (grind with dremel) so you can screw your buffer cap back on. (i choose not to). Oh yeah... use a very small amount of locktight on your screw that holds down the buffer tube. The only thing that holds a Gen 2 UBR to the body is that screw unlike nicer standard buffers that have a working castle nut. If you cut the wires to the proper length then you will not really see the wires if the stock is fully extended. I have probably 4-5" of extra material from the battery lead to the TM and 3-4 from the gun to the TM lead. Pictured is a 11.1 firefox lipo. It's crap. I wish someone made a 30-40 C buffer lipo. Yes I want a 30-40C Lipo @ 1000mah+++ that fits buffer tube. I will pay 50 dollars as a finders fee for a LEGIT hit.. A 7.4 lipo like the hot powers are about 1.5" shorter than the 11.1. You COULD fit the TM inside the tube with the 7.4. Maybe even screw that cap back on but it would be a PITA. You do not need to remove the stock from the tube to insert either of those batteries.
