Classified Section - Difficult to Search

In the Classified section, one of the rules is that when selling multiple items you must leave sold items in the ad with the prices and the word "Sold" beside the price.

The thought behind this is that once all the items are sold, the ad will be moved to an archive to allow people to search historic prices.

I guess my only gripe about this is that it makes searching for specific items a pain. I find that i always get multiple hits only to find that each for sale ad contains 10-30 items of which only 2-3 items are actually still left for sale, while all the other items are sold (which typically includes the item I'm searching for)

Is there anyway that we can keep this historic info but also make finding specific items that you are looking for less painful and time consuming?
