King Arms vs G&P M4 conversion kit
Hey guys, im torn between the following 2 conversion sets:
1. King Arms M4 RAS W/ 14.5 Inches Outer Barrel Set (KA-RAS-18-L) $122 http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...p?prodid=11429 2. G&P M4 RAS Front Set $155 http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=5791 The King Arms one is $33 cheaper, but im not sure which of the above has a better quality.... Also, i prefer a conversion kit that has an adjustable barrel length between 14.5" and 10.5" so i can quickly switch between CQB vs outdoors. Any advice, recommendations would be appreciated PS: Im looking for a set that has the highest quality..If there are any other brands you would recommend, feel free to suggest them, i want to ensure I make a well informed decision |

I've worked with both G&P and KA products, quality is very similar (i.e., excellent) for both. I believe the KA stuff is a bit lighter, possibly more aluminum in their construction.
One of the major differences is that the G&P barrel will have a 14mm+ threading (while most barrels and accessories have 14mm-); if you plan on using silencers or changing your FH, this may be something you may want to consider. Also as you can tell, the KA handguard has the metal heatshield.

Do u know if the KA or G&P 14.5" outer barrel comes in 2 pieces or just 1 ?

remember the KA barrel nut is metric while the G&P will be imperial

So far of the barrel nuts I've used from both manufactrers are interchangable.....

Same for me. They're both TM compatible and fit fine on stock TM and G&P receivers. They've BOTH been rather snug to install on brand new metal receivers [G&P both times] the first time they go on (if you try and screw it on by hand; I use an armorer's wrench so there's no issue), but after that its fine.

Quality wise, G&P, they feel alot better imo. Their matte paint is really nice.
Compatibility wise King Arms, ccw threading. neither of them are 10.5 to 14.5 interchangeable, regular high quality, non china clone RIS front sets are usually set at one length. the 10.5 to 14.5 interchangeable thing was started by china clones. Better luck there |

Is the G&P one much better in terms of quality? Its $33 more, but im debating whether its worth the difference in price..

it's better, feels better, worth $33? Id say maybe if you dig that kinda texture..
honestly it doesn't matter unless you're desperately trying to look fabulous under fire. Last edited by Skladfin; March 27th, 2010 at 14:58.. |

If you have a WA GBBR, yes you can use it.
If not, no. G&P finish is "thicker", meaning that the hardened coat feels that way. Edges are smoother. KA have the same kind of finish as Madbull. The rails edges are sharp all around. Also darker black than G&P. |

You can probably use everything but the outer barrel from that kit. But I am sure G&P makes that for AEG too...

Does the G&P one look a bit shiny like the classic army ones? or is it completely flat? |
