Internal Frame Loadbearing
very interesting study
check it out.. http://soldiersystems.net/2010/03/10...g-armor-study/ I have no idea what and internal frame loadbearing system would look like but I like the results of the study. 40% increases in speed for heavy labour tasks due to reduced fatigue... that is huge

Apparently the frame is made by Mystery Ranch and the armor carrier by Eagle Industries. I've got a Mystery Ranch NICE frame and it is definitely ALL that. Transfer that same technology to armor carriage and you can imagine the gains in comfort and rideability.

This is actually an amazing concept. Looks like it will have some serious benefits. I'll be interested in what the troops have to say about it though.

I think this system could be really freaken awesome.
Especially that the front carrier is completely seperate from the main (back panel & belt), you could have multiple front panels for different roles and save on the rest of the armor system. |

wait wait does it mean you could also attach a huge backpack directly onto this system?

read the test linked... full armour load and pack it's a brilliant idea... I think some pretty cool ( and mind numbingly expensive )gear is going to come out of this research)

Crye Precision also came up with their version, to connect the armor with semi rigid "straps" to the belt. They say it does not prevent crawling or most movement.
It's in their 2010 catalog.
