I get the impression, from this and a few other posts you have made dragwindsor, that you don't legally import your airsoft. I assume you bring it across the bridge from Detroit. Have any horror stories to share here?

Horror stories? Ya. One time, they actually took our ID. It was crazy!

my friend recently went to the states on a trip, and questioned customs about bringing back airsoft guns, and she explicitly said that ANYTHING is fine to bring back, as long as it's less than 500 fps.

i wish they'd make up their minds.

Without starting a new thread, hopefully someone here can answer this for me.

I have a friend in the US that found a used G&P wood kit for $40, it has all the parts so it looks like this: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=17458

If he tries to ship it to me and it's confiscated at customs, what happens next? Do they simply destroy it and tell me too bad, so sad? Or can I actually get charged or fined for trying to import something restricted/illegal?

Also, has anyone had experience clearing items at the border themselves? I regularly have items shipped to this place in North Dakota (http://www.menkesparcel.com/) to save on shipping, so I might just try to clear this myself if I'll have better odds. Again, depending or the whole confiscation/fines/charges thing.

Nvm i re-read it, his asking IF it gets confiscated.

It won't its not restricted. They might charge you their bullshit 'importation fee'.

To clarify a little, I'm wondering what the worst case scenarios could be. I tend to over-think things, I guess it's a bad habit.

I'm not too worried about the wood parts but the metal front piece seems like it could be a problem.

Ok so *if* they confiscate it, you have to call them/e-mail them and explain what it is. They aren't allowed to confiscate and hold it if its legal. They might give you a hard time but a lot of wood kits have been imported (bought from ebay).
