This is what 10 hours of dremel work and JB Weld can do:
Looks like shit, but works like a charm

Will the gun be likely to break if I steel BB's instead of plastic? My inner barrel is a steel 6.03mm.

I wouldn't suggest it, as it could damage your barrel or break your loading nozzle.

Magpul CTR mil-spec
Its my understanding that the buffer tube diameter of the kjw m4 is rather small. A commercial stock would have considrable wobble although a mil spec buffer tube has a smaller diamater than a commercial tube, therefore wont a mil spec stock fit relativley well on the kjw buffer tube?
Im thinking of getting a Magpul CTR mil-spec stock. Has anyone used this? Many Thanks |

Most of us selling the full metal KJW are the V2s. We will have ours in stock in a few weeks, I'm guessing Eeyore has them now, so buy buy buy!

so heres a question for you gents. i was having trouble with my selector switch today, and decided since i was busting out my tools. i would fix the incorrectly installed auto sear. when i bought the gun i noticed a flat plate (part 56, the auto sear) behind the hammer was horizontal with the barrel instead of vertical like all the pictures ive seen. i never bothered before because the gun fired both in full auto and semi.
cut to a few problems later, i have part 56,and 57 out, so i try the function as is, since it worked before with it improperly installed before. slap in a mag and bam, full auto fine, semi fine. so my question really is what purpose do those two parts serve? i cant seem to figure it out. fire selector is still not working tho, seems as if the pin is pushing to much into the switch. i dont know what changed since the only thing i did was add a drop of oil. |

Part #56 seems to reset the valve knocker or has something to do with it none the least. #57 is allowing the gun to fire full auto IIRC though, but you said that without it it shall still work both fine?
Here's a link for others to the part # in case you could help better than me http://www.airsplat.com/Manuals/GR-KJW-M4-CARB-7.jpg |

Part 56 is necessary if you want your gun to cycle smoothly. Part 57 is needed for full auto firing.

Hello all. I just got through all 46 pages and want to thank you for all the advise and ideas. I picked up a v2 cqb kjw and have a few questions. First, I run green gas to power the gun and was wondering if I should leave my mags empty when not in use. And lastly, I am a left handed firer and would love to have an ambi safety for this gun Like my real ar and sr25. Does anybody know of one that would work? Thanks for your help!

Wow, received my V2 bolt earlier today, it's such a pain to install a cradle in there ! V1 bolts takes 2 minutes to adjust it with barely a plat screwdriver, while for the V2 the spring has to be attached to the screw holding the CVR in place, then place the piston kit into the bolt carrier and replace the pin in the back.
Before getting the cradle velocity reducer in, the bolt chronied at about 440-450. I'll post once I find out the cradle's spacers value on this bolt! Edit: I have issues now with the CVR in place, with only the o-ring, no spacers on, the bolt shoots at about 250 fps...! Plus there is various cycling issues, such as multiple shots in semi-auto, and gas venting on the full auto and so on. I'll be searching for more info on this as I don't know what's going on lol ! Eidt 2: Tried with the stock valve and added only the CVR O-Ring, it does shoot 263 very stable (1.5 fps on 3 shots), but it's way too low... I guess I'll have to drill the CVR valve so it allows more gas, like the stock valve... Unless someone has the miracle? Last edited by audi_bhoy; February 17th, 2012 at 20:58.. |
