Socom Gear's OEM manufacturer is VFC.. or G&G and all in all, VFC D series not E series is actually better.

Gearbox might be the same but externally its wayy better

Inexperienced gun purchaser / Noob question...

I am thinking about getting a VFC Colt M4 RIS (STD) SOPMOD from Mach 1 airsoft but I would like to know if this is the same gun that everyone is speaking about (and highly I might add) in previous posts, or is it the VFC SR16E3 10.5 that is also listed on the Mach 1 website?

Any insight would be helpful as I am facing a tough decision about a new gun purchase because I am also thinking about buying a used KJW/TK M4 CQBR GBBR for $550.00 that comes with...

6 mags
Full Metal Receiver
EOTech Holo Sight
NCStar Flashlight
Magpul vertical grip (MOE)
Magpul ctr stock
mbus rear sight
madbull propane adapter
1 x v1 bolt (cradle inside shooting 330 fps)
1 x v2 stock bolt (460 fps)

I am a shy about GBB though since I already own a WE Scar and have issues with mags leaking and my o-ring being a piece of crap.

If anyone can give me suggestions on what to get it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The M4 SOPMOD is a 14.5" barrel length carbine. The SR16E3 is not the same gun.

If you do go with the M4ES (Warrior, SOPMOD etc, same gun) my suggestion would be to change the stock air nozzle to an o-ring type nozzle ASAP.

I have an M4ES and so far it has been a great gun!

The stock air nozzle is plastic and doesn't have an o-ring to seal against the cylinder head. The one I upgraded to is aluminum with an o-ring for a better air seal. $5 for the part from here:

You'll need to know how to break the gun down and take apart the gear box completely. If you're not comfortable with doing that I would suggest getting some help or have someone do it for you.

Also consider upgrading the cylinder head while you have everything apart.

Btw my stock gears grenaded during my last game. Teeth tore off of the sector gear and jammed up my gun.

A new set of 18:1 Lonex gears are going in on Saturday. I thought I'd get more life out of the stock gears even with an upgraded spring. Guess not. Another $50 down the crapper!

My gun is alive again! New set of Lonex gears are in, shimmed, greased, and ready to go.

Fuck Mach1.

Its a love hate relationship with Mach1 and I. I've bought two completely over priced guns from them now because I like ICS so much.

You can find that gun cheaper on the net somewhere else - its even in the classifieds currently.

- but shit guys - time to lower your fucking prices and keep in contention with other vendors who are way cheaper than you are any day.

$120 for an ICS R.I.S???? Eat my balls.
