How did you come to the conclusion that the look and feel was exactly like the TM MP5J with your gloss black painted AEG?

You really shouldn't make extrapolations from low res pics taken in an ad hoc smuggling paintshop and give the impression that you have the original unadulterated product at hand.

I got the gun gloss black painted, but I had it removed with paint thinner before I wrote this review. As for those pics, those were taken by Sam before he had them painted and sent into BC.

Sam had to paint them red to get them over the boarder, then he painted him black again in Canada, mine is a good paint job its just the black paint is coming off to show what looks like dry brushed red I am just going to take off all the paint and air brush mine this is such a solid gun I wouldn’t go with another mp5.

I have never gotten better customer support from any other store than Sam's i asked him about the gun almost every day and he answered the question even if I had asked the question before, there is no reason to hate the guy. All that the gun needs is to be taken apart then get the paint off with some paint stripper takes maybe 20 min that’s all.

It's kinda a shame that the gun needs to be painted and repainted to get into Canada. Even if the gun itself works fine, it just gives people more ammo against it.

My point for posting the pictures and being upset is that fact that the gun was painted and not previously disclosed to me before the purchase. I spent $250 on a gun that looks like something from Walmart. I'm not trying to say Sam is a terrible dealer, because he is not. I had great support from him as well.

But again I was never told the gun was repainted. Even if it was repainted and looked like a quality repaint I would be happy. But I don't want to spend a couple hours removing old spraypaint and then repainting it again when the gun was intended to be a gift for a friend.

I'm not bashing the performance of the gun either, but airsoft is a game about simulation and realism. This gun's appearance looks like a cheap watergun and would be laffed at when brought onto the field for a game.

All you have to do is go to Canadian tire buy some varsol paint thinner and it takes like 20 min to take off just put some on a wet paper towel and then wipe the gun down (disassembled) then wipe it down again with wet paper towel with no varsol on it... its not that hard your whole life is not falling away under your feet.

His problem is: HE WASN'T TOLD it was repainted SHIT. Unless I missed something there.

I fail to see how re-painting an airsoft gun gets it across the border any easier. Unless customs missed the memo about gangs re-painting their real guns in an effort to make police officers hesitate an extra second.

If that showed up at my door looking like that, it would be shipped right back at the retailers expense. Especially if there was any sort of customs scam (which it sure looks like) involved.

Alright,
I talked to Zener. He's not complaining, he's just stating that they came like that. There is NO NEED to raise any stink over this- the guys who have ordered already got their guns like this, the NEXT PEOPLE that order WILL NOT receive their guns like this.

I'm going to request a mod cleans this thread, this is simply raising a stink and starting a flame war. The people who have already ordered their guns know about it, and they're not complaining. Zener said that he's simply stating what happened, and the other 2 people that ordered it are simply taking the paint off in a 20 minute process, and they're happy with the gun itself.

Now, really, people. I guess Pugs was right when he said 'On ASC, everybody is on their period, every day!'

It's not the point whether it takes 20 minutes or 2 hours.. The fact is that something should not need to be repainted OUT OF THE BOX. No matter what product it is. Unless say, You bought a TM M14 in OD, full knowing that you were going to paint a desert camoflauge scheme onto it. Just because of this, I will not touch a CYMA gun for an even longer time now.

Yes, there is "You get what you pay for". But this is ridiculous. I've seen cap guns at the dollar store with more consistant paint finishes. It's disgusting the way quality is ditched in products these days.
