You can do a meet and greet and get your foot in the door. If they decide they like you the admin running the game may make an exception to you playing (I can't say for sure though).

NB (Nota Bene): To purchase a gun you must be 18+ (in fact apparently it's law in Ontario), however to play it all depends on who's running the game and how they feel about these things. Some admins will say 18+ no exceptions, others might allow minors supervised by an established player (ie. father or uncle and son/nephew group), some may say 16+ with guardian playing on field with them, even others might say 16+ (or sometimes younger) with waiver signed by parent. Just remember, it can't hurt to ask and at least you get your foot in the door and you get more known.

PS: Thanks for being so mature about this, a lot of the times minors around your age will throw a hissy fit at not being allowed to play. I can see you having a great time in the community as long as you maintain the attitude that you have right now.

NB: ASC maintains it's own system for purchasing and selling guns. It is by no means the end all be all but it is a significant chunk of the market in Canada. As well, do not attempt to have a parent make an AV shell/proxy account for the purposes of only purchasing guns (unless that parent is looking to become an active player and play alongside you).

EDIT: People in the US pay significantly less for their guns (for a fairly good quality metal gun in Canada, BNIB you're looking at $450-500 minimum (and once you turn 18 and can see the classifieds packages can go from $150 for a cheap parts/fixer gun up to $3000+ for a PTW in a package with all the bells and whistles and all real steel parts). Also NB that we use POWER limits NOT FPS limits (for ease however it's usually translated to the speed using .20 BB's) so if the limits are 1.48J then chronoing using .20's will give you 400 FPS and chronoing using .25's will give you a little less than 360 FPS.

Whether you get a full metal AEG or one with just a metal upper or a composite one is up to you. They all have their pro's and cons. If you are playing inside .20 bbs are fine as they travel faster and distance and wind is not much of an issue. Once you get outside however I suggest using .28's or heavier. Heavier bb's while traveling slower will provide greater range and accuracy as well as cut through bushes and shubbery easier. The fps you game at will depend on where you play ( indoors/outdoors), most hosts limit fps to 350 for inside and 400 fps for outside. Please note that these are limits not goals!!! With a properly tuned AEG and a good hop up many guns with lower fps have better accuracy and distance than some guns set to 400fps. I think I remember your earlier post saying you wanted an M4, AR's are great because their are so many after market parts for them including a ton of RIS/RAS choices. And please don't take this as poorly but whatever amount you think is enough is not. Most players don't stop at one guns and one rig set up. Infact I think most players here can probably claim to easily have spent over $5000 on airsoft. And yes Duracoat will work.

To expand on what Eeyore said.... I'm probably a good $1500 into airsoft not to mention I'm also a University Student (just drink less beer and spend less on things like girls and food (if you eat healthy and spend money on the right foods you'll feel good/energetic/healthy AND save a lot of money compared to people who eat ramen noodles and KD all the time)).

Also.... one of my projects (that I will start when I get some money) budget/financial projection is estimated to be ~$1300 (at lowest cost), possibly more depending on any snags that I hit.

Heh, only around $600? Want to know how much I spent on my last MilSim Paintball gun alone to get it cost me... roughly $900? Then if you add my Aimpoint COMP ML2 and various other things it was close to $1700. And I'm not going to stick with one load out, I will most likely have two or three load outs based on my favorite Special Forces groups and such.
Also another question, anyone here into the MilSim or am I alone?

I own about about 4k worth of various markers and gear. But I came to the light eventually. But this is not a paintball forum, go to Tippmann for that.

I know, I'm just saying Paintball Markers are two times as expensive as Airsoft guns so I'm deciding if I should buy another T68 or work on getting an M4 type Airgun getting all the things locked tight until I'm allowed to play.

Edit: Can you Zero Airsoft Guns? Also I'm not mature? Am I? >.>

zeroing a airsoft gun can be done through changing to a tighter inner barrel and adjusting the hop-up..

and some airsoft guns can run about 2000+ my old custom ran me 1000+

Go buy yourself a T68, spend all your money on paintball gear, never mind buying an M4 cause by the time you're allowed to play things will be different.

I actually beg to differ about the price of paintball markers compared to airsoft. Both are about the same. Milsim markers are usually the lower to mid end markers being about $500, while a good marker like and Angel or a MacDev are about $1500 to $2000 USD. Where you really save money is on ammo. Paintballs cost about $100 for 1000 at fields, good quality bbs are $20 for 1000. The money you save on paintballs pays for the gun and all your gear.

There have been some changes in the background but I don't think I can delve too much into it. Basically just know that there are fundamental changes being made in the background and hopefully once the market "stabilizes" you'll see cheaper prices and more stuff available. (Trust me I do some Economic Geography... lol. (But at heart I'm an idiot that would love to do nothing more than hit rocks with a hammer, play with expensive lasers and tools, and drink whiskey all the time)). I am actually one that remembers the days of buying a Classic Army rifle at $700 (and that was when they had absolute SHIT internals).

PS: A lot of what we play are more milsim oriented, although you'll have some "speedball style" play at certain paintball venues due to the inherent design of the field. Usually however, it'll be more "woodsball" oriented with occasional smaller and larger milsim games.

Okay, yeah well I understand that but the Market is quite stable in Canada so nothing is to much of a problem plus I probally will just get the T68 and the new uniform stuff such as a new RRV front bit since I have a large tear in the back of it only held together by the MOLLE.
