the whole laser thing is reminicent of a soccer mom scenerio. oh yes, lasers can and will damage your eye, but cmon, get real. the amount of time youd have to shine the laser in your eye for damage to occur is greater than youll expose yourself to in a game, indoors or out (thou, im not sure why youd have a laser unless your squad has nv outdoors)
the half a second someone beams you in the eye before you react doesnt do any noteable damage, other than bleach your rods. short quick exposures arent harmful, but a prolonged extensive exposure would (like hold you down and beam it in your eye for a minute) its like looking at the sun. grey's comment about "my eye sight is more important than someone cool toy" just kinda made me chuckle (not at you grey, at the attitude behind a statment like that) people just like to find something to wave their arms about... lasers arent healthy, but theyre not going to kill you at the extent we use them. |

That's not entirely true..
In winnipeg we have some one who can test lasers... And some of the lasers that have came outta asia and off of Ebay are at HARMFUL levels (read; Harmful = more than a couple seconds of exposer = perminant eye damage) There's also lasers that will blind you with a single sweep of the eye... (Real ANPEQ's, some IR Lasers... ect ect...) I've always been cautious of lasers... Especially new players who intensionally shine them in people's eyes to get the "advantage" |

lol shine lasers into peoples eyes, i never even thought about that when i plan on purchasing one. I just plan on using it as a quick way to aim if i dont have time to scope it.

Mistakes happen. You can shine it in someone's eyes unintentionally. If it's an unsafe laser, you just likely caused damage. For some people, it's damage that cant be fixed. Ever.
Soccer-mom my ass. Check your science (medical and otherwise). I still wont trust my eyesight on "it should be fine" comments with god-knows-who made them pieces of equipment. No way in hell. Call me whatever you want. |
