basically when you charge a NiCd or any type of battery. you need to charge it by .5c per hour. then to .1c amp to top charge it.

Those fancy battery chargers are just money grabbers, with fancy dancy names.

But just do this and u will never have any problems, find yourself a charger that does half the amps of the battery per hour.

the 20$ universal charger is ALL you need when the settings are .8amps and 1.6 amp per hour. these airsoft batteries are hardly ever bigger than 4000mah

stick with the universal charger

At the last game I was at I sold a NiMH 1200mah 8.4 stick battery and the guy went and charged it on a peak charger and blew it up. He came back asking why the battery had blown up like a balloon and when I looked at his peak charger and the settings on it, I showed him exactly why.

Spend the extra money on an intelligent charger (ie: NPT and delta cut off circuit as a MINIMUM) but no more than $75CAD in my opinion - beyond that you're getting frills you really don't need for airsoft.
