The front sight is not blocking the dot/hair of the aimpoint in that picture. Nice photo, though.

Wrong. The front sight is still part of the Aimpoint sight picture.

If having the front sight in the sight picture is a big deal, get a flip-up front sight. and ARMS #40L BUIS.

Damn I am dumb...

Sorry guys but I still just don't understand. Perhaps I need to talk to someone as I can't really express what I mean in words.

I understand that the front sight will be in the image, but I don't understand how it would be useful. Without the rear sight on the gun to line it up, it would be useless wouldn't it?

Plus, looking at KOS's image, it shows two different things! The iron sights in his picture say that his bullet (BB) should hit at the bottom, and his RDS says it should hit at the top. Which one is right? My god I am confused. Maybe I should wait until I get my rifle and use it a bit before I get an RDS.

In the real-steel world where sights actually matter (they don't in airsoft contrary to popular opinion), your RDS can be used in ways:

1) It can be used a stand alone sighting device. Nice sight picture, but batteries are the Achilles heel. Irons can be flip-up or non-existant.

2) It can be use a co-witness aid. You can use it as a stand alone, rear sight or as a co-witness with iron sights. Or you can use it in a CQB fashion with the red dot turned off (if it appears in the lens, it's toast).

You always sight a real gun in on irons first, then bring your RDS into co-witness with your irons. Then after a few rounds and some adjustements, you should be ready for use.
