Well, like it or not (the gun), you have to give these guys credit for at least putting something original on the market (the Type 97) -- although while I understand why they'd want to stick with massively available STANAG mags, I would have still preferred seeing a Type 95.

There's been an increase in the quality of HK products over the years, lets hope these guys live up to a reasonable standard. Who knows, with so many manufacturers now getting into LMGs/GPMGs, maybe they'll eventually put out a Type 88 LMG/GPMG.

Type 97 is export model of Type 95. The Type 97 chambered in 5.56 while Type 95 is chambered in 5.8 PLA

I ask some friend in HK. They say the price for the Type97 is very high in the market now. The 97 is $4000-8000 HKD so it will like $800-1200CAD. *&^* (*& !!

Yeah I know, and the 97 has a STANAG compatible magwell, which the 95 doesn't (and uses a different maganzine)

Point in case, I would still prefer havnig the 95.

Wow I hate AK....everything with a passion but I would actually consider a full steel and wood gun. Hell even the mag is steel. Perhaps you could truley treat it like shit like the real one and have the same EXTERNAL durability.
