An IR reticle is invisible to the naked eye.
When you flip from red does it vanish or just change to green?

Airsoft Depot means it just turns green, I have a 558 from there and its fully functioning just fine on my WE M4.

Though purchased at Airsoft Depot, the particular model I have has a true IR reticle function; it is invisible to the naked eye. It can only be viewed with a night vision device. The only colored reticle on this model is red; this isn't the red/green version that is common place in the airsoft world and is a welcome find for me having recently entered the green-eyed club.
The reticle in both functions is crisp with no ghosting; very pleased with it thus far. Tested the IR function with my monocular a short time ago and was pretty impressed. Both the red and the IR reticle carry the same sharpness and vibrancy when viewed through the monocular. So far this sight is an A+. That may change though: Torture testing to follow.

Frankly I'd be wary of using replica optics with NV, even if the reticle is in IR it still could be way overpowered and may damage your unit. Did you notice any ghosting or dark spots on your NV (what are you using to test?) when you stopped using the optic and continued using your NV?
Hope it works out, it'd be nice for people to have a true NV compatible optic at bargain prices. |

I was using an Armasight Spark CORE. No issues whatsoever. I will of course do some more testing before gaming in that fashion, but so far it seems legit.

Just buy something from Vortex, they make real steel optics.
They are cheaper than Eotech and Aimpoint but still solid as fack. They also come with a lifetime warranty, so if you drop it/damage it or anything they will still replace it.

I know there are plenty of inexpensive real steel options available; I own a Sightmark reflex sight for my M4 GBBR. I was looking strictly for GBB safe EOTech 552's and XPS2's.
Albeit the Sightmark reflex sight is pretty good for the price point being just over a billy. Crisp sight and holds zero. Only gripe would be battery life, but it takes three button batteries that can be bought by the dozen on Amazon for $3 shipped, so as long as I always have some on me I'm good. Kinda wishing I had bought the NV version, but I'm sure down the road I will. Edit: spelling.

I forgot entirely about the lifetime warranty. I've been using one (Vortex SPARC) on a gas PDW, and have been having trouble with it staying on, etc. I received it second hand, and I think it was being used with a .308, so while I doubt the PDW was the thing breaking it, it has been an issue while using it.

If replacing the battery, or tightening the cap isn't helping, then yeah warranty might be best option. There is a couple cases where the Sparc does randomly turn off regardless of the battery/cap. |

Can't fix my own guns. Willing to fix yours.

as for "GBBR safe sights" I've had lots of cheap optics, but nothing I've ever owned was so bad that the recoil from a BB gun bashed it apart, even the $30 aimpoints and $50 eotechs hold zero and dont break, I think its a misnomer really that a cheap optic wont last on a GBB, i think it would have to be REALLY REALLY garbage for that to be a problem
