Most Reliable AEG

I think we're seeing some serious thread drift here.

The underlying question is what is the most reliable AEG you can purchase.

That by definition means stock.

It's not what is the most upgradeable platform that's not imported into the country that a semi-mythical semi-retired gun doc that the average player will never find should aspire to.

No Real Sword Magnetic blowback, and all the other pie in the sky junk.

What AEG can a player go out and buy today and actually attend games with.

Initially I changed no parts. Neither my friends, nor myself could get it to function properly.

Now, I have installed a CYMA selector gear set, and selector lever. Still to no avail.

This was more just for my curiosity sake. I fear I just get Lemons by luck-of-the-draw.

A Factory built Systema PTW are generally really reliable.
The only problem with the PTW is the motor -It's machine wound which cause uneven tension -typically motor communter will fail 50-100k of use. You can fix it with the Tackleberry's motor mod.

One thing to note about PTW are:
1) PTW require tight tolerance, clones usually don't produce on spec which can lead to problems.
2) Challenge kit are a MUST avoid unless it's built by people really knows PTW ie I would trust Mcgvyver built Challenge kit.

I would add don't buy used challenge kits unless you are prepared or willing to accept risk or skilled in rebuilding them if required.

They are easy to work on for an experienced guntech. Assuming they have the parts if their is a failure easy to fix. Cylinder should be cleaned and relubed for best results on a regular basis. Gearbox can be left untouched for many years. I had sand, twigs and bits of leaves in one of my gearboxs and it ran great for 2 years before It was cleaned, not including the 2-3 years it was running after it was assembled. No wear on the gears/gearbox.

I've only ever seen a couple of SCK's as of late. Not nearly as common as they were 5-6 years ago. Aside from mine, I think I have seen 2 in the last 3 years.

Out of the box, TM 2nd generation = full metal, good range, reliable with no upgrade. Too bad many people like greater power so may not be everybody's cup of tea.
TM M14 is also a good choice for outdoor field.

I agree that G&P Stoner is also reliable out of the box, shoot hard and straight, good range, good firepower, and yet not too heavy.

As long as you use the NiCds!
I've seen and heard of a lot of motors lasting 2-3 years on the NiCd then suddenly dying after 2-3 games with an 11.1v LiPo
After they get tack'd they're good with LiPo though.
