The xcr-l is not front heavy at all.
Its decently balanced because of the metal barrel gearbox then battery
The whole thing is polymer

XCR - full metal folding stock
XCRc - polymer crane stock short
XCRl - polymer crane stock long

Though it does not exist in RS (counter to the whole mil-sim bit), the APS UAR seems like a good fit. It's cheap, accurate and accepts m4 mags.

I have had the XCR OEM'ed by VFC, and currently have a Magpul Masada. I'd recommend the XCR out of the box because it had better performance out of the box then the Masada. You can fit a lipo in the upper receiver, but if you don't like that, you could get a Madbull adapter stock tube to fit most M4 stocks.

^This. Very little that needs to be done to it other than an NPAS, power-up suppressor, and maybe a new hop up rubber. All of which are relatively inexpensive. Mags are $50 each, but GOD DAMN is it a fucking fun gun to use. For roughly $600 you are completely set. There are always guys on the classifieds selling MP7 packages for very reasonable prices. Give it some research, its worth while.

well sorta. the UAR looks like a knock off of the Polish MSBS Radon 5.56

I agree that clearing rooms in CQB normal rifles you don't have to drop the barrels none of my teammates ever did

And I don't like gas guns. The smell bothers me the mags are incredibly expensive and even if I carry 10 MP7 gas mags I can get two midcap AEG mags that cost less than a tenth of the price and carry the same ammo not to mention my team mainly uses m4 magazine compatible weapons.

ATM I've narrowed it down to between the A&K Masada and XCR-L. One of my teammates has the XCR-L and it has a good quality feel to it and shoots really well the performance is really good out of the box and I like the crane stock for easy battery storage and switching. The Masada style though to me is beautiful the internals are decent and easily upgradable, unfortunately I have had the pleasure to shoot one I know people in my city who have owned one for two years and never had to do any real upgrades.

Is there any incite as to which will help me make a better decision between these two weapons? Maybe someone has owned both?

BTW I would rather not buy a used weapons as the quality is not always reliable or assured

Best suggestion to make a final decision is to hold them in person and see which one you would like better.

stock bolt on the kwa mp7 shoots >400 fps in 25C sunlight, mine shot 450+fps with .2s

With the cqb bolt, in my 15Cish basement it shot 300 fps with .2s... in that same 25C sun it shot 360-370.

The npas is ok.. but you have to reach the tool down the barrel to adjust it. risking scratching the barrel bore. The bolt takes less than a minute to change, it's 2 pins, the whole back of the gun comes off, bolt comes out... put the new one on, hook it into a little loop slide the whole thing in, pins back in and ready to go.


Mags get heavy though and having to carry gas and BBs makes it a bit more cumbersome to skirmish. slower paced milsim might work out better, but it's not as consistent in temperature fluxuations as an AEG...

at a game like nightfall last weekend my mp7 would've been shooting 370 during the day but at night when temps dropped to 15 it would shoot 300... and hopup would be tuned to the heat of the day and the ammo I'd be using during the day... so if I used .3s then at 300 fps the bbs would be super slow and drop a lot more due to loss of fps. You have to constantly adjust to keep it consistent where an AEG is just set it and shoot.

Then again, there's nothing more terrifying than a battle cry accompanied by a screaming clacking bolt of a gbb indoors.


as for the xcr and masada, I believe both are v2 gearboxes, so neither would have an advantage of ease of disassembly. V3 is easier to take out of the gun, fewer screws and slightly easier to work in, v6 imo is the easiest to take out and work on, true v7 is apparently a bitch to work on.

Battery space for the full metal XCR is limited to a PEQ box or a thin stick LiPo too. You can get the stock adapter and wire it to a crane stock though.
