Just released. These TRI guys are serious. I will carry the whole TRI product line from Dec. 2012.
To use with nexus/msa PTT, you need to modify. Even to use real 152 with nexus/msa PTT,you need to do the same.

PTT for 152. The connector is retired, real steel military spec connector. There could be scratches on the connector. TRI won't accept return because of that.

from what I have been reading, it looks like all the connectors are aviation grade. Real stainless steel, and it may use the original prc 152 batteries
but google translate isn't that great (all of the sites with any info are in Chinese) but it looks really good for now |

And this radio is at IPX-7 water proof level, which means it can be used under water 1 meter for 30 mins.

As I understand this radio can be used in the pmr 446mhz range that is allowed without license in most of Europe.
I see in the feature list is is programmable by computer. Would it be possible to program this radio in such a way only the 8 specific free to use pmr 446 frequencies would be accessible. Otherwise I am afraid this radio is not legal to own and operate in most of Europe which would be unfortunate, because this seems a fantastic piece of kit and a must have for every airsofter radioman Best regards, Menno The Netherlands |

Theres a video on youtube, it shows YOU DO NOT need to program it on your computer. You can so do it on the unit and you can also program 2 different frequencies too. Meaning you can listen to dual channels and broadcast on both one by one.

I know you can select the right frequency on the radio itself, but in that way the radio is not legal to use in The Netherlands and most of Europe. If the radio could be programmed that it can ONLY use the 8 PMR446 frequencies and no other frequencies can be selected it might be legal if it has a CE certification... |

Anyone heard anything more about these? They look a bit more practical than the United Star 148 since they can be programmed from the hand set. It would be good to hear peoples thoughts on them.

DO NOT BUY THIS!, theres a review of this unit that shows it DOES not work with real headsets, and after a few chats with people who have owned one claiming its crap! and they really need an overhaul!

No wait, the opposite thing; third hand opinions and no fact based information, just hearsay from random strangers. Well done.
