I have ordered two (2) HSGI Taco Rifle pouches from DS Tactical. They are shipped with malice clips. They told me they don't come with them but that they supply them with.

Will update with time frame for order and delivery.

Magical undead thread time.

Just picked up a set of these direct from HSGI. The construction is super solid. As long as you follow the video in Kozzie's link, installation is quick and painless. All you need is a lot of existing practice with MOLLE and some pliers.

Field testing these tomorrow...

I don't like Malice clips with these pouches. easier to use the drop zone snake straps to mount and work with these pouches. I managed to easily get two pistol taco's onto a single rifle taco without any problems.

HSGI has stated comes with malice clips. Having been inside Daves surplus in new westminster I can see people taking home malice clips from the taco's sitting on the shelf.

yes those are the real deal. They're starting to carry real gear.
edit: they started carrying a limited hsgi selection sometime this summer and a few other lines. They've had some tactical tailor stuff but now they seem to be carrying more and more.

Why not just get them from a Canadian retailer (and I believe a site supporting retailer)?

I figured that was why. Always nice to balance out the insane HK shipping costs.

Zentauron

Good thing I held off ordering the HSGI. Just found these ones Made in Germany by Zentauron. I am going to wait to hear more reviews on them first.

I really like the design because it does not have as much exposed elastic cords like the HSGI.

But if you look at the interior of the Zentauron's open, the mag could get snagged by the cord exposed on the inside of the plastic pieces. The HSGI could be better long term.

The plastic would likely flex out before the bungee cord snagged a mag

I've got a bunch in Flecktarn. They are way taller. The real HSGI TACO's I have are 5 1/2" tall (11.5cm), the Zentauron ones are 6 1/4" tall (16cm). TACO's kydex is 5/8" wide (1.6cm), Zentauron are an inch (2.5cm). Most AEG type mags barely poke out the top. Longer AEG type mags, like G&G & PTW (not an AEG I know) being real length, poke out 1 1/4" over the top (3cm). In TACO's, normal AEG mags easily poke out 2 1/2" (6.5cm).

Zentauron are very nicely made, with built in fabric molle straps. As I run a G36 with G36 PMAGs (with PMAG pulls on them), they fit my mags fine height and width wise. If you're running PMAG's, yoiu'll have a hard time grabbing them without pulls and the fit is a lot looser than with TACO's. Regular stanag mags would fall out when inverted as they are smooth. I can take pictures is you like. I've got Gen 1 TACOS's and a Costa leg rig wih Gen 2 mounted on them.
