There are tons of AV reps in the GTA area, your best bet is to attend a large game there will usually be a rep present. If in doubt, contact the organizer of a game they are usually AV reps or can help you get in contact with one if there are any attending their game.

I'm 39 and just getting started. Only been to 2 games so far. And I've got 2 AEG's and a full metal blow back pistol in the fold already. Went to a game last night to ask players about their kits and what to do with lipo batteries, watched some action but didn't play.
Next week I'll be bringing a guy who's 43 with me to his first game - age is age my friend, you can't stop the clock. It's feeling young that counts. And, lets face it, 40 isn't that old at all - the really young don't get it, the really old don't remember it. We're in the prime of life - now go fire that weapon downrange and tag you some baddies

I always love the fact that we (the older guys) are usually still around 1hr before the end of a game while the 20 year olds are packing it in because they're beaten by the heat and have no energy left.

60% of those guys that are gone early are the ones that come to jerk off over guns/loadout/equipment and primarily come to chitchat, and delay the start of games by not getting their asses reloaded and on the field...

There are PLENTY of greater GTA events being held within an hours travel time from the city core. You are never alone - this is a team sport... you always have plenty of people to shoot with, and shoot at. You don't need to have pre-existing relationships/friendships to come along to events - you will make acquaintances as you go along, attending events, that I can assure you. Everyone is new once.. all it takes, is one event to get that out of the way. |

I didn't know anyone the first few times either and I was older then most. I kept coming back and staying till the end. Eventually they realized that resistance was futile and besides, they wanted me on their side |

I'm 33 and new to the sport as well. Anyway, our team whooped a bunch of young guns last game(was old guys vs young guys). They were good shooters but we had better teamwork.

Anyone who starts new in a hobby will be lost in the abbreviation or lingo. Dont worry. You're not the first one. I still dont understand half the things people talk about here LOL
As for your age, unless you're so old you're going to drop down and die, you're not too old. Sure, you're not as athletic or active as us younger folk, but imo, you'll find that wits and patience is much more useful than speed and agility. As others have said, READ LOTS! Being that we live here in Canada, there are specific laws and etiquette regarding firearms and airsoft guns/gear that you may want to familiarize yourself with. Welcome to Airsoft Canada and enjoy your stay =) |
