COBRA CXR825C GMRS - Headset usage
Ouch. What's the mah on those battery packs? That's a long time and one of the reasons my moto's can take standard AAA's. My new Wouxun is another story.

Doesn't do us a lot of good I"m afraid. I bought my Cobra CXR700 radios for $50 and they work great but I don't think a headset that works with it is available in Canada. I went so far as to contact the company and they haven't responded. It seems silly but I think different radios may be in order.

neither will work with the cobra since they are motorola 1-pin
I don't like the style but know many users who love them I use a Code Red molded ear piece with acoustic tube (since it doesn't cancel out ambient noises like the in ear units and delivers clear audio) attached to a shoulder mic. |

After all this do you use a cobra radio? Or your just that intelligent to know enough about them.

Cobra 1-pin is compatible with Motorola 1-pin connectors as well in my experience. I have a set of Cobra radios and bought a headset/PTT on eBay.

cobra's that have a multi use jack (read headset and charger in one jack) have pins that are different configs. they look the same but the spacing is different. |

Both of you are right, I bought a $40 motorola 1 pin headset that worked except the button on the headset to talk didnt work without holding it down then pressing the talk button on the raido, solution was to tape down the button on the headset. But after some thinking I decided to ditch and return the headsets, and buy the cobra ones instead. I spent $90 on the radios, $90 on the Motorola headsets (FML), and now $33 for new headsets, overall I'm happy with my finds/ I saved almost $60 I can put towards other stuff. |

Just got the cobra headsets. Quite surprisingly good quality for audio and voice. Placed an extra foam piece I had from other head sets over the earbud and it worked perfectly, stays in ear and wont come out.
