Brian, thanks for the link, the only thing is i'm trying to find a third-party that makes it, because if the one manufactured by WE has a manufacturing problem, then buying a new one with the same upcoming problem waiting to happen won't solve anything...or would they have fixed it?

I don't mind the brass tube, but I dislike the hop up design and performance that comes with it.

i think its not possible to change the original Brass tube system to an open bolt one. its not a conversion kit but simple replacement kit i guess.

i think conversion and replacement are sort of the same idea.

nono He is saying they WETech will not replace the awss system with the new one. meaning they will continue to produce both so you have a choice. some people had thought WE was going to only offer the new open bolt system on all new guns.

That comment in the video wasn't referring to user end replacement/swapping of the systems.

He may have been telling the truth at the time the video was made. but as you have shown in your own airsoftbuddy link, the open bolt kit converts the pdw from a closed bolt to an open one. Or replaces. whatever terminology works with you. YouTube - ‪WE KAC PDW open bolt system kit installation video.mpg‬‏

From James' interview,
WE will NOT further develop any AWSS system this includes update.
WE will eventually discontinue AWSS system for civilian market
WE will continue to offer AWSS system for law enforcement and military market
All new WE GBBR will be using the Open-Chamber system.

Brass tube = ugly but reliable, freezes up like a witches cunt in february.
Open "Nozzle" = WE GBB pistol with misfeed feature and broken plastic poop coming out everywhere.

I found with the AWSS, I had to clean that bitch...like all the time....like...even while I was cleaning it.

the closed chamber isn't more reliable per-say IMO, but it is tougher, because everything is metal, the open bolt on the other had, Ive seen a few plastic nozzles break, nothing major, but the performance upgrade you get from a TM hicappa style hopup in the open bolt instead of WEs original little rubber band with a hole in the barrel hopup that, didnt work worth shit in the AWSS guns is definitely worth it to me, but I wont be converting my gun to open bolt because the falcon hopup gives me the same hopup and barrel style (tm hicappa based hopup and barrel) without having to switch out all the internals and change over all of my mags
