Yes, I've take the hunter safety and CFSC.

I think, as well, that the requirement should be a firearms licsense to buy airsoft guns. I've seen some idiot 25 year olds running around the parks, and who aren't mature enough to have their own apartment. But it doesn't matter that they have taken no safety courses because they are obiously mature enough.

And I know the local Canadian Tire sells bb/pellet guns/knives to minors with a firearms licsense.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't get a PAL until your 18...unless you are a Status Indian.
But I think the point remains that you are not legally responsible for your actions until you're 18.

You are mistaken, first you do not need to be 18 to OWN a airsoft but to BUY one. And second i don't understand, you must be 18 to buy firearm legaly.

It's just like bear, it's not illegal to drink some at 14yo, but you can only buy it legaly at 18.

A few years back i did succumb to soft-air, and bought a pistol and shotgun.....both were complete junk and not worth the sweat off my balls....although they did introduce me to airsoft, so in that respect i guess they are not totally useless.....

What I meant that was that their are o real legal rules in Canada about "airsoft guns" in particular. They could be classified as toys in the future (doubt it), And sorry, I don't know why I posted that I have my PAL, you are correct, you need to be 18 to get it. I think I was thinking that my dad had one or something... lmao, sorry >_>.

Please correct me if there are legal constraints directed at airsoft now...

They advertise hopup on it because it does have a fixed hopup system...

Yeah I understand real guns are like that, it's sad to watch our interest plunder into the dirt because of immature uneducated kids. I am one but at least I know how to handle a gun. If only there was some sort of way to prove they were responsible enough to handle one. But forcing every body who is going to buy or use one to take a polygraph isn't exactly .... normal for lack of a better word.

My dad has absolutely no doubt that I would be fine to have an airsoft gun, I spent a month researching them and I showed my research to my dad to convince him. But in the end he said the main problem was not with me, but he was worried about that one idiot in a game who will spoil it all. So instead I said, "Don't worry they can't change me XD besides I wouldn't even play a game till I was 16 maybe older.

If you pass the CFSC, you then know how to safetly handle/store/care for/use guns. Considering airsofters are also into firearms, this would be an easy eay to tell if a person is responsible enough.

But, on the other hand, I'm disturbed at several members of this board who think the Liberals should ban "real" guns, because real guns are evil, and airsofts are toys. Guess what? The second real guns are banned, airsoft is gone too....rather, the re-election of the Liberals will mean the eventual death of shooting sports (including airsoft) in Canada.

Well A: I dont know where to find the CFSC, but that actually would be a good tool to show they know how to handle them. The problem stems from the feeling that *if i shoot you, you wont die*, in the back of kids heads they seem to think that it is a toy and nothing more. Sure in a way it is a toy, we use them for enjoyment, but they are also very dangerous if you are ignorent to their potential power.

That's exactly it. It would be illegal for you to purchase and own a firearm. Same with airsoft.

Why is Calgary any different from Edmonton where you still need to be 18? Cuz y'know... I could have sworn that airsoft guns as well as other gun laws were of federal concern, not municipal.

Mtallman: Who owns the guns & what brand of gun locker are they stored in? Just curious

If he's under the supervision of the person they're registered under it's legal, I believe.
