Thanks. I got a Guarder thumbrest(replica of Arredondo) that comes in the IPSC set for Wa's. No black ones anywhere so I got a grey one, might end up painting it black. This one:

So you'd have to tap the frame to fit it?

Its already tapped. Its mounts on top of the scope mount.

May I know what is the steps to polish the gun? Will it get rush after polish? I got a full metal WE 5.1, after looking at your polishing, I feel like polish mine as well but I scared to screw up the entire gun.

Got a Guarder thumb rest for the SVI.
Also got the Guarder body on my 226, nothing spectacular. More than likely though this 226 will turn into a Jack Bauer blaster with some powdercoating. |

Hows the Guarder kit for the P226? The PGC one is crazy costly....

Thanks guys.
It actually doesn't matter if I can't access the slide stop since its not functional anymore because its short stroked. It does suck though because now I have to take of the thumb rest every time I want to take off the slide. The Guarder kit is surprisingly good. The finish is not as good as the PGC but I expected that and the trades are shallower and not as crisp too. The fit, function and install surprised me though. The slide to frame fit is nice and tight and it didn't take that much work to make it work beautifully. |

Well, my Executive changed looks again. Got a pretty good deal on a gray SD grip, now the gun looks more like its real steel brother. Also got an AS lightweight blowback chamber to put into the open class SVI once I get it back from getting work done to it.

I'm not sure if it was already answered/asked in this thread, but with your old WE 1911 which had the paint removed, what process did you go through to do that? I'm a bit bored with mine...

Why are you selling the Delta Elite? I find it's the hottest one of the bunch!!

Andres - To strip the WE I first soked everything in paint stripper. Then used a dremel wire brush tool to strip the rest of the paint off. After that I hand sanded it with 300-1000 grit sandpaper. Finally it was polished with metal polish.
Cassius - The Delta was a GREAT gun. I just never shot it that much anymore. That and I am probably going to build up a TM MEU. Bored today, took more pictures of the Executive. Last edited by Krame; August 14th, 2008 at 19:39.. |
