BPS (Balls Per Second) Meter

I just downloaded this BPS Meter app for my iPhone and was wondering if it's accurate at all. Basically, it uses the mic on the iPhone to pick up the noise that's made by each shot. I got a Li-Po, Trigger Master MkIII, Systema Magnum Motor, whole lot of Prometheus parts and a 110 spring in my gearbox. When I tried out the app, I was getting an average of 16 BPS. Does that sound right? I mean, 16 BPS is pretty fast but should it be what I'm supposed to be shooting at with what I got?

Compare it to a chrony, or measure (accurately somehow?) how long it takes to empty a mag then divide the mag size by time and there you go.

Most accurate is a chronograph though.

It SHOULD be accurate if it was programmed right.

Assuming you have normal torque gears and the trigger master set on full power that seems way too slow of a reading IMO

The only chrono I got is a F-1 Shooting Chrony, and it don't read ROF. But I got a friend who does. I'll test out my gun on his.

Yup, stock Tokyo Marui gears except for everything else, which are Prometheus parts. That's exactly what I thought also, I was like, "16 BPS, WTF!!!"

Post a sound recording of you shooting and I or anyone else with sound editing software can fairly easily check.

If I can give you an advice, fire the gun away from the iphone, cause the mic is too sensitive and will not clearly recognize the BPS...

Btw Mitchell12 have a good idea.

sounds like the BPS meter on ur Iphone is wonky I'd say

I would assume that the programming doesn't take into effect the wirring sound of the motor and gears.

I wasn't expecting much from the app anyways, afterall, it is only an iPhone and not an actual chrony.

11.1 volt lipo, 16 rps sounds slow.

I get 21 rps with a 10.8 volt battery. It should be closer to that range then 16 rps.

The weight was .25 if it is not clear
