Battery Chargers?
Hey, i just got an A&K M249 Para, and the guy i bought it off of threw in two 9.6 volt mini nunchuck batteries. i was wondering, when looking for a charger, what are some things i should look for? me and some friends are pooling together to buy one, so money isnt really a problem. What company makes a good charger? any feedback would be much appreciated, by me and the rest of the guys going in on the charger. thanks

The Smart charger is awesome in my experience. Fast charge, and stop automatically, and is only 55 $. You can buy it from BBBastard.

i use this one http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/bb-batter...-basic-01.html
and never had an issue with it, you plug any battery between 4.8 to 9.6v select charge amperage (up to 4amps!!!) and hit "charge" and voila! , it also auto detect the battery type (nimh nicd)

I use the following, have not seen any issues with it at all. Lots of options with this one.

I don't sell them myself anymore, as Velocity Arms and AirsoftParts.ca have started selling them and I want to focus on the BB product.
I'd go with the NPT charger, it has "Universal Smart Charger" printed on it. Its simple, its fast and its really safe with your batteries. I've seen it with these two retailers anywhere from $37 to $50. I believe Army Issue down in Port Credit has a few of mine left in stock at $55 if you're a walk in customer. I can't recommend these chargers highly enough. For airsoft, they are perfect - simple, safe, fast, maintains your battery's health. You can buy fancy chargers, but even if you do, you still should have one of these. My only criticism of it, is it does not come with a system to attach the charger to a car battery - I often charge at a game or out at a field like Wolfpack Muskoka and could use that feature - other than that, excellent charger. |

Is there any chance of damage to the battery if left plugged in for a few hours after full charge is reached? Some sources on the "net" say that any "trickle charging" after full charge is reached is not healthy for the battery. That being said, I am sure it is better than a standard wall charger feeding it's current for that extra time. |

Now I use a TLP Fuzzy Logic charger and most times I hammer it and start at 4ish amp. It's a smart charger so it slowly decreases output amps as the battery gets fuller. Batteries do get warm when doing this but I don't leave them unattended nor do I leave it to trickle charge once it's done. (usually more batteries to charge right after it) When I want to charge it unattended I'll set it at 2amps or less and let it go. The NPT only has 2 settings. 0.9 and 1.8 amps. Perfectly safe to leave it going as it's only outputting 50mA. |

I recently entered the Lipo world and cuz of that i had to buy a new charger, so off to airsoftparts.ca I went to. He has a charger called " X Charger B6", it charges everything out their. Nimh, Nicad, Lipo, Life, Lion....so on, this charger comes with a half a dozen different connecters which is nice. This charger has a built in balancer which you need for charging lipo's and when charging other types of batteries it does a battery check to make sure that battery is good to go..all in all i am very happy with this charger $120.00 for this charger, i think for the price its a excellent buy.
