Bling for the Linton LT-6288 Radio
I'm looking for recommendations for headsets and remote antennas (i.e. have a flexible cable that allows the antenna to be placed elsewhere) for the Linton LT-6288 radio. Is the antenna a SMA or SMC connector?
Any other good suggestions for someone new to running with this radio? I have the programming cable/software coming in from HK as we speak. How's the durability, should I put it in a little pelican case that has holes drilled through the Pelican for the antenna and the headset? I've heard that people are running a 'dual' setup with this, that you can trick it into listening to two frequencies (i.e. a command channel and a squad channel) Thanks! |

I have this radio and a Cavalvy Elite as well (recommended to me by Roughneck). I haven't fielded it yet, but seems to work fine just from testing.
As for the cable, it's not really required. You can program all the standard 22 FRS/GMRS channels in about 5 minutes from the radio itself.

RocketScience BluComm Bluetooth Headset. No wires to feed, loop, tuck or choke on. My only negative about it is the ear-bud on the actual headset. It is poorly designed and will not stay fixed in position.

if your going to get a Calvavy Elite they are great but the U94 PTT. but some of the players i know the PTT just kinda, stopped working. when u hit the clicker the radio would see your pinging a transmission BUT nothing would be sent and nothing could be received.
the little black lookin gizmo is the U94 all the wires on mine have come off the PTT plus to the head set so might want to watch out for that BUT i hear the haung clone work flawlessly. |

Channel scanning for activity? I think mine can do that.

Channel scanning is against the rules, as you'll pick up transmissions from the other team.
I believe you can do some signal filtering at the squad level using the subchannels, but to what extent. The squad could be set to receive on a certain subchannel, and the individual chatter would only be heard within the squad, but they could receive on all a sub-free frequency. The squad leaders would have their radios open so they could transmit and receive freely.

MAST which seems like a great idea to remove the effect of body loss on transmission strength. But I'm wondering if there is an airsoft version (i.e. cheaper)? |

The lintons are good. no need for a case or anything. I've used mine out in the rain, dirt and snow and a year later it still works as if it were brand new. Don't submerge it though. it's not water proof.
