mind you, the "Canadian Markup" makes what I said pretty much null.....consider its $150 for the gun in US, probably closer to $300 in Canada. The parts I mentioned I don't know if will add to $300 in Canada....

hurts my wallet....lol

I have only bought the 1911 kit thus far...I have a Kalash AKS74U on order, ~$160 shipped, can't go wrong with stamp steel receiver and wood...

I think it really depends on the degree of kosherness you're after: outwardly, MEU 1911s vary depending on when they were built. Some still sport the older sights which were Millett front sights and Quantico-built custom rear sights that look like Government sights on steroids. Many (most?) still sport Commander hammers rather than the Wilson ones.

Other differences with the classic 1911 are the extended ambi safety and straight backstrap. Newer models have front serrations on the slide, the ejection port is cut lower and flared. Newest generation models are supposed to include a rail (like the Kimber batch). MEU 1911s also get dehorned.


That being said, I have no idea if Marui will get all of it right, either
