Battery problem.

Battery: Intellect 8.4v 1200mah

Charger: TLP 4000c

I stored the battery after a peak charge 5 or 6 days ago.

Today, I plug it in my AEG and it's dead. So I connect it to the charge for a discharge/peak charge cycle, but the discharge goes on forever (at least 20 minutes) and the battery gets very hot. I decide to skip right away to peak charge and it takes only 5 minutes (?!?). Then the battery is still unable to power the AEG.

I tried another cycle a couple of minutes later and this time it discharged normally and took over a hour to recharge. Now the battery is powering the AEG.

What is up with that battery? Why did it lose its entire charge in so little time?

My other Intellect 1400mah battery works perfectly.

It's a NiMH.

i've heard ALOT of problems with TLP chargers, just buy a digital charger, they're only like 40-60$ and never give anyone any problems

Seems like the battery is defective. I tried it again today and it was already drained.

Is it possible for a battery to discharge itself so fast?

the battery has a problem -
heat production in the battery when it's discharging means there is some juice output somewhere inside the battery, which is very wrong.

My guess is that some part (junction bar or cable or I dunno what ) is broken inside the battery, and partly fucntionning/partly fucked up.

edit: If you charged it with too much power the first time, it may be broken, but I have no idea what the exact effects would be in that case.

I had a similar problem earlier this year with my Intellect 8.4V 1400mAh battery. Wasn't the charger at all, did my larger batteries fine, but it seemed that the Intellect one would fully charge, put it in the gun, and would get a cycle or two then go dead. I had no idea what was happening, I only bought it last fall and while having used it a fair bit at home (like a couple or few mags per week), I'd only gamed with it twice. Starting to suspect Intellect has some inferior products now.

Oh ya, discharging a NiMH can/will damage it, at least I've read repeated discharging (like more than a couple times per year) can damage it. I never discharged mine except for using it.
