Spring Guides
Does anyone know the difference between a rotary spring guide and a normal spring guide??..Looking to do a spring and spring guide swap on my TM M4A1, it has a V2 mech box..Lookin to go with a prometheus non-linear MS100SP spring and just wondering which spring guide I should choose as well as if this spring is the right choice. Already checked out the spring chart and it said with this spring I should get bout 340ish fps..Also already swapped out inner barrel for a tight bore..Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

yeah thats what i use in my 249 and its shooting 345 fps
get a spring guide with a ball bearing, not only does it add ALOT of consistency by removing rotational spring tension, but it also compresses the spring a bit more and squeezes out an extra 3-5fps |

Normal spring guide is plastic and has a thin washer on it. Bearing spring guide is metal, has a thick washer at the rear, a washer with ball bearings in the middle, and another thick washer that the spring base (the more compressed end) sits on. They greatly allow the natural twisting of the spring during compression to not affect the way the spring expands, increasing your consistancy between shots by a bit. And expect a rough +15fps increase by installing it.

If you mean the washers around the bearing itself, they're called bearing outer races. The unit itself is specifically called a shoulder bearing
Calling them "washers" just doesn't do them justice lol |

Or if you want to get kinky, they're also known as "thrust bearings."

Just outlining what they look like is all (since being simple is what is required for the poster who asked about bearing spring guides.) Besides, like I knew they had an official name!!!!! Lol
