Fanz goggle systems
After trying different anti fog applications all of which in the end failed I decided to go the fan route. Initially I was going to buy the fans and rig up something. I know Memel was successful in doing this. However not being able to find the small computer fans locally easily and realizing they werent that cheap when I did find them online, I put it off.
Then I accidently ran into the fanz goggle system on ebay. Wow an inexpensive system already built for me! Perfect for the guy who just doesnt have time to do all the work himself. This is a preliminary review of the system as I have yet to try them on the field. That said in house trials prove successful. The sound level is quite tolerable, I bought the dual fanz kit. There is also a single. Here are some of images of my setup. As you can see they dont look to out of place and the profile on them is pretty good. I will be doing an on field assessment on them this Sunday and will update the review of my results. The cost of these are $20 for the single and $25 for the double. They are available in black , od, and camo colors for the battery housing wrap. Another nice thing is the small co is located in Mississauga. I couldnt meet the guy locally so I had mine shipped and it was at my door in 2 days from receipt of payment. Here is the website http://cybersciences.free.fr/Fanz/index.htm Currently my score on these is 5 out of 5 stars. Installation is a breeze, they look good, the cost is good. If you do end up ordering from them mention that you heard about them from me and you'll get a discount. (just kidding but mention you heard about it from me anyway) I know he does give discounts on bulk orders , I believe its 5 or more.

Group order anyone?
Look nice. Not a big fan of the bulky battery pack though. |

I rigged my own and run it off of an old mini battery. Having the battery pack on the goggle strap is a pain in the butt, gets in the way with boonies and helmets and as you run the one side of your goggles slides down. Only ones I know of that don't cause this are the ones that run off of 2xAAA's but the fanz one looks bigger.
Otherwise looks great, still need to heatshrink the wires on mine to cover them up (their blue...) and bind them together, its still kinda in the prototype phase. |

Game day review:
First off I sweated like a pig today. Got absolutely no fog in my goggles. I used a cheap no name battery and it is still going now. I found that the noise was not audible at all during gameplay or just standing around. I did a lot of running and really did not have a problem with the battery pack dragging down my goggles. I was using my ball cap today with the setup and have to say was very pleased with this system. One of the staff at Flag Raiders checked out the setup and may decide to carry them at his pro shop. In the end I can say this was a very good and worthwhile $25 investment. 5 stars.

Do you have any problem starting them? Because I just bought the dual fanz and I have to give them a little tap almost every time with a brand new duracell...

Feedbacks
Hey guys
Thank you Losttourist for your review! It s always great to see that players are using our product and they are happy with them! Comments on what I have read so far: 1) The black box at the back can be attached pretty much whever the wire let you go. If you need a longer wire for a specific set-up we customize no problem: just let us know during the order process. The reason why we set it up for the back is mainly due to the small chances on getting hit there. By experience I have never got hit on it there and you dont feel the weight. Besides because of the on/off switch button there it s very easy to reach it backward. 2) Group order: on the website there is the wholesale price list. If you guys order 3 or more (instead of 5) I will drop the price for sure. As I said we are not looking to make gold here but still need to make the work worthwhile. 3) Double Fan (DF) works great with glasses. I have tried it wearing some myself. 4) If there is any retailer or pro-shop interested please pass the word forward. If a deals comes thru I wont forget you be assured Thank you guys Ezcreation http://www.ezcreation.ca |

I bought a set of doubles this week, and it was in my hands within 48 hours of ordering.
Played Sat and Sun, both days humid and hot, days I would typically have significant fogging problems. The goggles stayed completely clear and my glasses only had a little fog along the top. A significant improvement over my usual experience. To me, well worth the investment. After I had them on I did not notice they were there. LD

Someone did ask me if the fanz could be painted in green...We have run some tests and yes it can...Kind of tideous to do but doable.
Also another member asked about adding a LED light. Doable also but would be a custom order. If you guys have suggestions, I am all open |
