CA SLR 105
I just got this gun in the mail and it's great and everything i'm just not too happy with its furniture. Seems far too plasticy on the foregrip and buttstock. Could I get some advice on what to get to replace it?
I was kinda thinking of getting a wood kit like this one but as my gun is pretty much all jet black i'm not too sure that would look so good. Then I was thinking of something like this but i'm not not sure about that either, it may be just as plasiticy. Anyone else dealt with the same problem? Also by chance the top of the reciever on my gun is a little wobbly, how do you tighten it? Or is it supposed to be like that? |

an assortment of cheaper wood grips, plus the one you are looking at is a standard ak47, not a 74 (notice the widder grip on the ak74, plus the indentation on the stock) |

I was under the impression that it would still work for the ak 74. Are they not compatable?
Anyway, what are peoples opinions on this kit: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...t%20for%20AEGs Last edited by WarHawk109; January 30th, 2007 at 00:40.. |

basically any grips will work on any ak, those ones will be fine, just be warned that the "ak purists" will do mean things to you with a rusty fork if they find out that you put rails on an ak....

The receiver cover on any AK, even the real ones, will be a bit loose. It's just a cover, not an integral part of the frame, and is supposed to be easy to detach in the real thing.
From the purist point of view, the real gun is meant to be simple. No bells and whistles. |

Well I'm not a purist necessarily.
I just want something that will function well for me and not look cheap or feel plasticy. Is the tactical kit that I linked to any good or not? If not can someone point me to something better? |
