take the 2 body pins out, and pull the top half off. Im fairly sure the vn is the same when it comes to dissassembly as the a2 and m4. Maybe im wrong, ill find out.

I have both large body pins removed, but it still won't come apart.

No no no!!! :x: :banghead:
TM M16 VN have a different takedown than the newer TM M16A2 and M4s

They use a full mechbox so pulling the top off with out taking of the rest of the body will break your tabs!!! Then the top receiver will really fall off even when you are playing.

You'll have to take the motor plate out. ( don't lose the roung grey plate)
take out the motor (remember the wires position)
take off the grip (keep the grip upsidedown to keep the 2 screws in the grip)
take off the rubber plate from the rear stock
take off the rear stock by removing the long bolt in the stock.
take out the 3 body pins. (2 large and one tiny on in the middle, it comes out in the opposite side of the 2 large pin)
slide the lower receiver out
then pull the mechbox out from the top receiver.

TM didn't bother to re-design it like the newer models. The VN is one of TM's first AEG model so it's not take down friendly at all.
