6 Pocket Woodland BDU Shirt/Jacket

I was watching a Discovery special on Navy Seals and most of them were wearing these 6 pocket BDU shirts for their Woodland/Alaska operations. The shirts they were wearing were not the modern 6 pocket shirts with the velcro. Instead, they looked like the regular old woodland combat shirts, except they have arm/shoulder pockets. Does anyone know where I can get these, or what they are called (i.e. model)?

They're raid bdu's.
There's different (levels) of work that can be done to them inc. the raid collars, velcro closures and custom configurations/placement of pockets and velcro ect.
Lots of ppl either get them custom made by someone who does that kind of work or do them themselves.
There are a couple of places that make them for sale but they're realy pricey.
Spec War Gear, Sells them. (correct me if I got thier name wrong please)

Awesome info. Thanks. So what they were wearing was most likely regular issue combat shirts with "homemade" shoulder pockets? That's all I needed to know. Since comabt shirts are so cheap, I'll try making my own.

You can either do your own, or pay someone too do it, or just buy pre-made RAID BDUs.

Yeah you can just pull the chest or lower pockets off, (since with gear on they're usually unreachable or more of a hassle to get to than not) and just sew them where ever feels best for you.
I found a good way of getting spare pockets is get a bunch of roughly used shirts for cheap as surplus and I usually get a couple of good usable shirts and use the ones in the roughest shape for thier pockets.
It'll take a couple of attempts before you figure out all the problems that can come up, but if you remember to do any work on the pockets and flaps (velcro) before sewing them to the shoulders and remember to keep checking to make sure you're not sewing the sleeves together you'll be on your way.

And remember that if you want velcro the arm pockets to put it on BEFORE you sew them on the sleeve.

Send me a shirt in your size and I'll hook it up for $30. All velcro included.
