Help Is Need In Purchase Of Combat Boots

Well I am looking for another pair of Combat Boots because the pair I am wearing at present is, well lets just say "out of commission". I am looking for some suggestions on what type of Combat Boot I should get. Keep in mind that I have a budget of about $250

Do you play outdoors? Cold weather or warm?

For cold weather I would recommend the CF issue Prospector Goretex boots.
For warm weather, a pair of jungle boots fits most needs.

I've got both at the foot of my bed (along with two sets of ankle boots and work boots).

Very confortable, you can get them insulated, they are mostly water proof (resistent anyways). Colour works best in all environments.

I highly recommend those.

Sniper Steve, get 2 pairs of USGI Jungle boots made by wellco, ive only had experience with the black nylon upper jungles, they only run about 75 USD (not the cheap $30 knockoffs). When it gets colder just wear thicker socks.

Ive used the CF Prospectors at work once and wasnt very impressed, the goretex lining (combined with thinsulate material) locks sweat inside the boot if you are doing anything active. Good for sitting around in the rain all day, bad if you actually have to move around in them.

For spring/Fall/Winter I use a pair of Belleville 700 Series Gortex lined boots with a Vibram sole. These boots have got to be some of the best boots I have used to date, including CF prospectors. They are super warm and dry and comfy. Check ebay they seem to pop up at pretty good prices from time to time.

In the summer I preffer standard CF issue Desert boots with the no clog panama tread.

I recommend danner acadias, USGI?Welco(not those shitty knockoffs) Jungle and Desert boots. If you have a bit of extra money, resole the jungle boots, they have a pretty hard sole due to the spike protective metal plate(or whatever) in them; vibram makes some pretty good soles.

I like the Ridge Ghosts. Great boots (around $150). I have also heard good things about the Rocky's Tactical boots as well.

Well, im a huge boot person.. My work pays me to get new boots every year, and i dont use the money for work, i just buy more airsoft boots.. so far ive tried:

Magnums - Older versions from years back were just fantastic.. i found the newer versions not as well made, and after a year in the bush, really didnt hold up as well as my old ones.. which have seen like 5 seasons and still kicking.

CORCORAN - nice all around boot.. its got a hard sole, so you need to break them in.. but the leather around the ankles are nice, padded and soft.. I have a pair of 9's kicking around i fyou want them for 75 bucks (reg price 200) used twice (baught different ones)

Original SWAT - Ok boot, like the magnums they didnt hold up that well.. i use the "shoe" version for work and like them alot, and i walk about 15k a day every day. After about a year though. with the rain and snow, the leather got hard and not they arnt that comfortable and ill be tossing them out.

Oakley Tactical Boots - Though these things are about 250 canadian, they are literly the best boot I personaly have ever worn and i have worn a LOT of boots.. soft, comfy, the grip is great, water proof, and they have been holding up like no other i have worn so far. They survived an entire spring, summer and fall, of 15k every weekday while i was working, and abuse ont he field on the weekend while i was playing. I still wear them now and I found them cool in the summer, and so far warm in the fall (its only been -10 though) I would definalty recomend these if you have the coin.. but TRY THEM ON FIRST, i nromaly wear a 9, but baught an 8 because they fit a little different. Hard to find in canada too.. i found 1 store in calgary that sold them, found my size, then baught them from ebay cheaper
