For indoor fields I understand because it's semi/burst only. If someone calls ceasefire and the shell is fired there would be no way to stop other than to aim it in a safe direction but there's the concern of what's around and potentially sweeping EVERYONE as a result.

How long is the duration of fire anyways? The main concern seems like it's a safety issue where the user can't control the ricochet or stop firing if ceasefire is called.

a few seconds. It's basically the Cyclone Grenade in a M203 shell format

You can actually simulate the 40mike, by holding onto a Cyclone grenade and pointing its discharge port at your target and setting it off.

It's not even a few seconds, actually. It's like 1.5seconds or something along those lines.

The key to the 40 mike is to half fill (bbs) and it gets a very nice spread and range up to 150-200 feet. Try it if you have it!

Hot damn! Someone finally noticed.

A modified Cyclone was the first proof of concept for 40 Mike.

I managed to improve muzzle energy a touch with a straight barrel that was a bit longer, but essentially 40 Mike is a modified Cyclone.
