Mechbox Review - VFC Stock Mechbox
http://youtu.be/oVQGsegzL_k
I've been meaning to do a review like this for some time now and finally got a chance to as a stock VFC gun came across my bench via a client. For those of you who say "VFC externals are great, but their internals are meh", I respectfully disagree. VFC internals are actually amongst the best out there in terms of QA and consistency as well as choice of materials and workmanship. Enjoy the video! |

the self shimming gears are not bad for stock gears, the teeth are quite wide so even with the gears being able to move side to side quite a fair bit, the wider teeth allow for more contact area from gear to gear, so even a crappy shim job probably won't break teeth of the gear or cause a misalignment to bend an axle.
They still aren't the quietest gears though, you can hear them working. Only a really good shim job can make the gears nice and quiet. An interesting thing to note, the 3 vfcs I've opened, the cylinder head was quite tight in the cylinder. The airseal through to the nozzle was amazing through to the nozzle. The AoE is also very good stock if you check. Off the shelf, really the only weakness is in that clear piston.

I futz with V2s, V3s and V6s. I could be wrong... but probably, most likely not, as far as I know. |

I've dealt with a lot of their gearboxes and concur. Really no reason to upgrade anything except for the piston.
