Wet feet don't bother me during the spring/summer months so I prefer breathability over waterproofness. A spare set of good quality wool socks is key.

My primary airsofting footwear consists of:
1. Rosearch jungle boots. Modified with the toe cups and spike protective sole removed.
2. Danner Desert Acadias.
3. Merrell Sawtooths.
4. Garmont Flash XCR - Goretex.
5. Belleville 790 - Goretex

Stuck one of my feet into a creek recently with them on. The only thing that got wet was the top of my sock and the boot. Foot stayed dry. I've ran them in all kinds of weather (snow/ice, dry summer heat, cool/wet spring/fall) and have yet to find something to complain about.

Picked them up over at Bass Pro at least a year ago now or more.
Plus 1 on these as well, my soles are finally worn out but they are still light, comfortable as hell and waterproof. I have had the first version of these (Danner Striker) for well over 8 years. I used them when I was "IN" and I still wear them, it is just tougher to get up hills with no tread

Every game seems to be wet/muddy/rainy/swampy...LOL

Sealskinz socks are a god send. Buy one size up since they're a bit tough to get on...and they're a snug compression type fit (which I feel uncomfortable in). I find putting on a thin liner sock or lower leg compression socks first, and then the seal skinz to do the trick for whatever comes up.

If the weather is cool (spring/fall) they're great. Hot summer...not so much.

I've tried those goretex bag/booties...didn't find them very comfortable since they bunched up.

My go to footwear is water proof goretex as well...makes a big difference so your footwear doesn't get waterlogged and weigh a ton. But that's casual water, if I get them submerged they'll get soaked.

The water is always 1" higher than the top of your footwear...just a fact of life.

Reading reviews, it seems rocky socks are the way to go, they've got much better reviews than sealskinz

I felt and heard the opposite. The Rocky ones are non stretch...might be just be me but I struggled to get my heel/ankle through because there wasn't any give. Maybe going up a size would have been better but I didn't want it to bunch like a bag.

The guy at MEC actually warned me off of them and said that with his pair the inner layer split because they were hard to get on...and one of their open package demos had the same issue...he said that if you're careful with them, they work.
