Magazine Warning

It is a popular misconception that it is legal to import a high capacity magazine if the magazine is disassembled and the parts are shipped separately, this is WRONG! A Customs tribunal in BC has ruled that a high capacity magazine body is itself a prohibited device. This ruling now takes precedent over the Criminal Code definition of a A high capacity magazine which defines a magazine as a receptacle that feeds cartridges into a firearm. It was general accepted in the pass that when a magazine was disassembled it no longer met this definition.

I have it on extremely good authority that at least one individual has already been charged.

On conviction of Importation of a Prohibited DeviceĀ under Section 103 CC the mandatory sentence is imprisonment for THREE years!
Just be aware that if you remove the pin or whatever limiting device from inside a mag you are in fact in possession of a prohibited device! So even ordering a mag body that doesn't have this pin can mean trouble for you.

I'm not taking apart a pmag and bringing it back in parts. I'm modifying the inners permanently so it can take a WE mag internal. Has no one READ the first post??

My post wasn't directed at you. It was a general statement. I know a few members of this forum that ordered JUST the magazine BODIES from the US and turned them into airsoft mags, I know, I was one of them. What I'm saying is they need to be aware that it's now illegal accord to the CBSA unless those bodies are pinned.

For import, as long as you destroy the feedlips in such a way it's obvicious that it can't hold rounds it will be acceptable. Destroying the feedlip is an acceptable method to reduce the capacity of magazine below 5
