3.7 lipo for AEP

hello, I got a DE M9 AEP, the nimh battery went awol so I bought a 3.7 lipo to use it with the aep, I noticed that this is a single cell battery, so how do I charge it? all the lipo chargers are for 7.4 and 11.1, not for 3.7

AEP batterys are 7.2V you should get a 7.4V Lipo since that way you get roughly the same ROF and aren't stressing the battery. And it solves your battery charger issues.

Woah dude. No. 7.4v lipo battery at 1000mah 20C discharge is equivilant to an 8.4v Nimh Large battery.

A 7.4v lipo at 20C would destroy the AEP.

And to answer the OP: go to www.hobbycity.com and look at the chargers there, they have some for single cell chargers.

awesome thanks! yea, that's why i went with the 3.7 , i use a 7.4 for my AEG, i thought it would be overkill for an AEP!

I guess you have never seen 15C and 10C lipos then. Hence my post.

ive got a TM glock 18c and im running a 7.4v lipo w/ 1900mah @ 22c!! its a freaking beast!!! put about 1000rnds thru it already and still going strong!! if u know what a kwa m11a1 is like (on green gas), lets just say, this little aep is about the same rof, but WAY more accurate!!!

(sorry for reviving an old thread)

My old VZ61 disagrees.

It was running 7.4 800MAH 20C Lipo.. and it didn't have any problems.

people REALLY dont understand lipos!!!!

take an AEP that runs on 7.4v. that motor prob uses - hypothetical - 3amps. that means it will ONLY EVER DRAW 3A WHEN HOOKED UP TO A 7.4V BATTERY END OF STORY!!!! that being said, a typical Nimh Battery is 7.4v 500mah @ 1C which gives you a constant Amp output of .5A. when the motor initially starts spinning (first shot) it will have IN-RUSH-CURRENT which could draw more like 2A from the original battery!! - what im trying to say is, that the original battery that comes with the gun, is not powerfull enough to let the motor work at its proper power, its actually holding it back. its like having a farrari enzo, but only being able to push the gas pedal 1/4 of the way - stopping the engine from getting enough gas to reach its potential.

SOOOOO what im saying is if u have a 7.4v 500mah 10C lipo (which would be 5A) or a 7.4V 500mah 100C lipo (50A) it would make NO DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE OF THE AEP!!!!!!! thats cuz the motor is designed to draw a designated - hypothetical - 3A!!

lipos do not have some magical power in which they can crank out all there AMPS at once!! they are still a battery, like all batteries, which follow the laws of physics!!

Volts - V - are constants
Amps - A - are drawn, according to the size of load - aka motor

7.4v 500mah 10C lipo (which would be 5A) so 5Amps available, and the AEP draws 3Amps, 5-3=2... which means the battery can accommodate a load of 5 amps, but has a smaller load of 3 amps, leaving 2 amps capable of being used somewhere else, ie a flashlight ??

7.4V 500mah 100C lipo (50A) 50amps available, and the aep draws 3A 50-3=47 so now u have 47 amps not being used.. hmmmm.. hook up 3 aeg's, an aep and a flashlight to one battery, fire them at the same time, enjoy.

i KNOW this from personal experience! this is what i have tried:
7.4V 1900mah 22c (42A) Lipo and a 7.4v 500mah 12c (6A) Lipo. other then the fact that the 500mah lipo fit inside the AEP i couldnt tell which one the gun was running on. as long as the A supplied by the battery is higher then the A required by the AEP, the operation of the gun will not change a bit... unless you change the Voltage.. which is a whole different story
