Motorola T5720 walkies HELP please

I recently acquired a set of these. The problem is, I can't figure out how to get the beep that sounds after releasing the PTT button to shut off -- I can just see myself getting outed every time I try to talk to anyone LOL. I've tried everything even remotely connected in the manual. If anyone knows how to do this, or where I can find the info, I would be grateful.

Hmm my old set, if you held the PTT button and turned the unit on, that did it... Might work for yours if you havn't tried that!

I just tried your suggestion, doesn't work. Maybe I'll get you to have a look tomorrow.

just hold one of the buttons while its off and switch it on whilst still holding it. trial and error doesnt hurt in this situation but i think it might be the top right button

I've tried every button/on-off combo I can think of
It occurs to me that maybe if I used a VOX it would cancel out???

But on those models, VOX means the mic is always on, every little noise you make will trip the PTT.

Ill have a look tomorow Ash, maybe we can or someone else there can help figure it out, because if your on my team, I do not want that little bleep noise going off every time you send a message

Don't use VOX, VOX is the most annoying thing there is.

From the manual:

Transmitting a Talk Confirmation Tone
You can set your radio to transmit a unique tone when you finish transmitting. It’s like saying Roger or Over to let others know you are finished talking.

• To turn talk confirmation on, press and hold +) while you turn the radio on.
When you release (PTT) after transmitting, your call tone transmits and .)))
displays.

• To turn talk confirmation off, turn your radio off and then back on while
pressing and holding +)

Good luck,
'Fly
