Hot weather boots worth it?

I've been reading about how important it is to have a good pair of combat boots due to ankle rolls etc.

I plan to be running a lot, but I don't want to over heat at all as well. So i've looked at these hot weather boots posted below. However it looks like they are just material to help with the heat making it still possible to roll an ankle.

Has anyone had experience with this type of boot or can suggest something good for running?

They look like a minor variation of the issue Altama desert boots.

Different people are going to like different things for different reasons, but personally I've owned several pairs of boots (old CF combats, Altama Desert, Belleville USMC hot weather, Bates USMC Goretex, Bates M8 desert) and I've sold half of them since I really keep going back to the Goretex ones all year round.

Are the Altama deserts cooler? A bit, kinda. But the Bates Goretex ones are more comfortable all around, and waterproof. So if I cross a stream or play in the rain/mud, my feet stay dry. They're also fairly breathable, so while my feet do get warm, they don't get wet from sweat.

As for rolling an ankle, I think if you try hard enough you could have it happen with just about any boots. Be mindful of where you step, be cautious when caution is warranted.
