Battery options for ICS SIG 552
Hi, picked up a Sig and I need a battery...8.4v supplied won't fit in the hand guard or the microscopic batt. box that came with it.
I need a lipo pack or peq. I don't want 11.1v. 'cuz I feel well placed shots win over rate of fire. My personal choice is a 9.6v@2700mah LiPo for the hand guard or a nicd in a peq. Allowable dimensions for a LiPo in the handguard are: L 132mm, W 21mm, H 16mm. I'm in Vancouver and would like to know if anyone out there knows of someone local who has for sale a peq w/batt. (9.6v w/decent mah) or someone who can make a custom LiPo for the hand guard. Cheers, Ratters |

Lipos only come in 3.7v denominations.
So your best bet would be a 7.4v lipo, and it won't be 2700mAh because that would be too big. |

I use a MARK III in my SIG 552 to set the ROF and find 11.1v fine to use. At least with a M110 spring this set up is holding fine. Oh and as far as I'm concerned a PEQ is just a way to make your gun unbalanced, the fancy way is the grenade launcher
All in all I have to say that DonP can hook you up with that MARK III and its a life saver on all your components, nearly a must for lipo if you want peace of mind.

ok, I declare this thread officially dead. I had forgotten that this issue was already discussed at length earlier. My appologies.
Those who viewed and responded , I respect and appreciate your tolerance. I will be picking up a 9.6 and a peq tomorrow and perhaps doing the Mark III trigger master route next. and remember kids "it's all fun and games 'till someone starts tweaking off Jib" O.A.O. Ratters |

ICS Sig batt. options
Today I went to my local surplus depot and picked up a single pistol mag pouch. I removed the LEFT side rail and used it to hold the pouch as a batt. bag.
The pouch sits flush and does not flop around. Run the wires through the other hanger strap (between the rail and bag) so a lucky shot doesn't take out your fuse holder!:rrr: This is an inexpensive solution to using less volatile and less destructive, 9.6v NiMH packs. Of course a LiPo with a MOSFET III makes me drool, that doesn't change the fact that cash is tight and I want TO PLAY!!! AARRGGGHHH!!!! KILL, KILL, KILL!!! sorry..., time for my medication  I was then able to mount a $20.00 telescopic bi-pod to the lower rail and still have room for my hand placement on the foregrip without having to use a vertical tac grip. |

A little secret
I'll let you in on a little secret. It's for all you Goons ( including yours truly )that love SigArms and are considering an ICS version but are hesitant 'cuz of the mags.
A couple days ago I picked up a TM Sig Commando. It was supposed to be upgraded with fancy this and fancy that but it wasn't ( I won't go into it ). Anyhow it came with a slew of 43 round fake bullet mags. Initially I offered it up to the ics magwell and it seemed tight so I accepted defeat. Today I said to myself "I'm not gonna be beat by no ****ing toy gun" and I applied a bit more elbow grease and......Ha! Psyche! All kidding aside, YES, they worked. Three of the bunch were stubborn so I applied some silicone oil (heavier, not spray but spray will work) to the BB retainer at the top of the mag. Loaded about 5 rounds in each mag, fired 'em all and no misery. Try it out(gently at first) ICS is a virgin to these mags you know! Now wipe the sweat from your brow and rejoice! inomini patri, spiritos sancte. Praise the nailed up one!!! BooYaa! Last edited by Ratters; May 12th, 2010 at 21:10..
