Stanag Magazines
Well I have my first Armalite on its way. At least it should be. I have been overwhelmed looking for STANAG magazines. The choices are endless!
I need some opinions on some of the best or worst. I am mostly interested in lowcap and midcap mags. Metal are better than plastic to me. What are the best / most compatible out there? What are the worst? Why? I have some Vietnam style mags coming with the m4. What guns will they fit? |

Marui (68rd/metal) mags are a bit more expensive but a safe bet. Had mine for years and they've never failed me.

the metal CA mid caps (130rds) have been pretty reliable. also, the S.Arms metal midcaps (160 rds) are excellent and have been brought back into existence by airsoft unlimited.
http://www.airsoft-unlimited.net/osc...roducts_id=254 apparently, when I bought mine, there were very few around. mine are 190 round midcaps. yes, 190 rounds and not a mag tickler! |

G&P also makes pretty good midcaps and they aren't too expensive.

Alright I'm also new to the Stanag mags game because of my new Tavor (was always using a G36 before) and I'm torn between 2 package deals and I sure could use some help for choosing. I want to know what's the best choice quality-wise for a midcap (130rnds) metal mag, between Classic Army and G&P.
First up: Classic Army 130R M4/M16 Metal Magazine 6pc 109 CAD$ PROS: Fair price around 21$ a mag, from airsoftparts wich mean in country and gets to you in 3 days, just the number of mags I need, I like the grey color over black. CONS: Not the cheapest choice. Next: G&P 130rd Metal Magazine for M4 Series AEG (Black, 10pcs) 90 USD$ PROS: Dirt cheap at around 10$ a mag! 10x mags is more than I need but you can never have too much of a good thing. CONS: Would prefer grey over black color, all the usual hassle of getting it from Hong Kong. Quality would pretty much be the deciding factor so anyone has experience with either of them? How do they compare? coachster and Egria have said they're both reliable but is one maybe better? P.S. Sorry for the obvious thread jacking...

Well since I've had no help here, I made a few calls to buddies who have been using M4 for years and the concensus is that G&P mags are reknown for not fitting every brand of M4 and are of similar quality to CA... so the Tavor being sort of a loner in his own category, I better go the safer route with mags that are for sure TM/CA compatible, so the CAs on airsoftparts it is !

I have aquired 4 of the old King Arms metal 68 Rd. mags and an old 68 rd. CA mag recently. They all work great in the M4 and the G36C /with Stanag adapter.

How about the old 10 lowcap package? Plastic mags, but who care really? At the price they are, you have more mags and you are longer in the action.
I'm planning to buy a new weapon platforme this summer, and I'll be looking for those plastic lowcaps so I can have more than 10 without breaking the bank.

I like 68 round lowcaps.
Single stack = fast, cleaner feeding. A couple different companies make em, in plastic or metal. If your lucky, you can find the Dboy metal ones for fairly cheap. I got 20 for like $120

I use both MAG 30 rounders (They feed pretty damn well for being cheapassed magazines) and STAR 84 rounders, same story. Then again, I keep my magazines lubed and taken good care of. Some of the MAG mags had come out feeding pretty cruddy, but I disassembled them and found little mold burrs here and there, I cut them down with an exactoknife and haven't had a problem since.

I've always use the MAG HK416 mags, and never had any issues with feeding, unless of course you try to jam too many bbs into them.
Just got some KA 68 round mags, I'm looking forward to using them and seeing how well the feed. I really enjoy the plastic mags. They're cheap and I really don't care if I lose one. (I've got about 30-35 at home....)
