Get Age verified. Talk to a retailer or look in classifieds. I personally have the D boys K98. The simulated wood version is better looking than the actual wood version. The gun is totally worth the buy unless you buy a marushin. Awesome shell ejection!!!

That's exactly what caught my attention, the shell ejection! So, say I get verified, how can I get that gun, or even better, the one you have, the wood version??

I have the plastic version which looks tons better than the actual wood version. After you get verified, talk to a retailer for a custom order or check out the classifieds for a second hand one.

the plastic one does look a lot better, (realistic..ironically) but how do they do on performance, are they the exact same?

if you are just plinking, than the Dboys or Marushin is fine. But if you want to game a kar98k, than get a Tanaka and NO OTHER. im not saying this cause im a tanaka purist (though i do love their guns. Im saying this cause i did extensive research and talked with people who have owned both. Owning a Tanaka kar98k myself, i am glad i got it over the shell ejecting versions.

they do perform the exact same. search the forums here. i saw a guy who stripped the finish off the wood dboys and restained it. looked 1000 times better and blew away even my tanaka Kar98k wood.

Get your PAL and get a real Kar 98K, thats the only way to go. If you don't game, why get a toy?
