As long as low grade firecrackers are used in this, I feel it acceptable for use.

We've got a couple guys here that use a Tennis ball. cut it open-insert some peas (Because peas are cheaper and a little softer) then insert the explosive device from a firework fill with more peas and let the tennis ball close itself. They usually put in an 8 sec fuse which, if you know how to find the burn rate of the fuse, can make your grenades rather effective. Throw immediately after lighting for longer ranges or bake it a few seconds for short throws.

but, to be on the safe side, all players should be aware of your grenades and know that it goes "BAANG!!" so diving out of the way instead of trying to return would have it's incentive.

Maybe it was not permanent, but had some sort of hearing loss.

There was video of it somewhere.

Sure if used carefull they can be useful, but there is some risk to it.
That would be me, and a couple of my friends.

There were about... 4-5 people crammed into a tiny re-spawn room then some one threw in a tennis ball grenade with an airbomb charge in it

The person that threw the grenade didn't know that it was going to land in such a tiny room (it hit a wall and bounced into the room) but still.. accidents happen... but there's a much large chance of accidents when home-made pyro grenades are used.

I can sort of see it now, off in the distant haze...

*dude lights a grenade to throw...
...
*throws*
Guys in room where 'nade is thrown..
"Hey a nade!"
"Open your mouths!"
*opens*
*BOOM*
*nom nom nom nom BB's* (or corn, peas, etc..)

I can understand the pressure balancing, but in an airsoft enviroment I wouldn't feel too safe considering somebody may throw a grenade then enter after it blows to clear the room you're in.

You can hear 'em in there, you can also see the incident where that one went into spawn (5:32).

I think the problem here is that these certain grenades were just WAY too powerful.
